AMAR SINGH SETHI FILM WRITER DIRECTOR
Some things about me
Amar was recognised for his musicality, taking 1st prize in Asian Star Search, a Nationwide, British-Asian Music talent competition, winning the Punjabi singing category. Amar went on to becoming main producer and lead singer in a Punjabi Rock Fusion Band. He became interested in filmmaking while directing, filming and editing music videos for his band and other musicians.
Amar trained as an Actor at the Sam Rumbelow School of Method Acting (London) for three years. In 2020, Amar pursued his love for narrative filmmaking and trained at the National Film and Television School. His script “Discharged” (micro-short) was selected to be made and sparked his passion for writing screenplays.
In 2021, Amar wrote and directed his first short film "Bus Driver", - a narrative short film aimed at challenging pre-existing notions of prejudice. The aim of the film was to depict a compelling examination of the unconscious bias that lives within us all.
Amar is currently in production for multiple films which aim to bring a range of important sociological issues to the forefront, including his next short - titled "Sweaty Hands", currently in post-production. “Sweaty Hands” is aimed at highlighting the inauthenticity and façade of so-called "professional etiquette" in the corporate world.
